On a stormy night in the 60s, four eager teenage singers known as The Plaids, met their untimely end on the way to their first gig. Now in 2017, this quartet get one last chance to return from the after-life to do the show they never got to perform! The Plaids deliver with playful patter and angelic voices a fun show that engages you to sing along to the nostalgic pop hits of the 1950s. Thursday, August 24th ------------ A Real Cowboy Experience in LODI, OH! $79
This was one of our most fun Mystery trips and now we are sharing it with EVERYONE! We’ll start by exploring the fascinating town of Oberlin, with a local guide, to learn its amazing history. We’ll have a short amount of free time at their picturesque town square that even has a “Ben Franklin 5 & 10.” Next, we’ll see the charming village of Wellington. Our guide will show us this area that was the CHEESE Capital of the WORLD, in the second half of the 1800’s, and many of their historic, 1800’s buildings intact. We’ll experience our very own authentic Cowboy adventure at BUCKIN’ OHIO, in Lodi. The Thorsell Family started out life as city folk and now offer this unbelievable cattle farm just down the road. We’ll start with a barbecue sandwich lunch in the authentically restored BARN (including entertainment by a Country Western songstress who happens to be their daughter.) And we’ll walk around the corner to their RODEO arena to watch the lead Horse Rider drive and chase live, huge BULLS around the OK Corral! Weather permitting, we’ll have a wagon ride around their huge farm complex. We’ll complete our day at the engaging city of Medina, as our guide points out the charming history of this appealing area. If you look hard enough, you’ll be able to see Andy, Opie and Aunt Bea!
Wednesday, September 6th--------Historic and Ethnic Cleveland – Part 5 $69
We’ll start in the GLENVILLE area that hosted the area’s first horse-racing track and turned Glenville into
Cleveland’s SIN CITY in 1880’s! A Jewish enclave in the early 1900’s, Glenville was home to many famous
Clevelanders AND the creators of SUPERMAN! (We’ll see their actual homes and the tributes to them.)
We’ll sightsee the area before we enjoy the exotic flora at the Rockefeller Greenhouse, a hidden jewel.
We’ll depart the motorcoach to ride the RTA Waterfront Trolley-train arriving underneath the Terminal
Tower, providing a similar rail experience many immigrants would have had when they first came here!
We’ll have a walking tour of Terminal Tower/Tower City before our bus takes us to the new HOFBRAU
HAUS for a German-themed lunch along with the fun of a one-man band! After lunch, we’ll see the mini-
mansions along Upper Prospect and the site of the first Christmas Tree Candle lighting in the US! We’ll visit
Peterson’s Nuts (a Cleveland favorite) before we tour the HEINEN’S at Cleveland Trust, saving an iconic
Cleveland building. We’ll complete our day with a tour of the Metropolitan Hotel(from the Vaults in the
basement to the Rooftop Patio!) This hotel is one of Cleveland’s swankiest and you will be amazed.
